B.G. Garner Sr. was born in a small farm village outside of Cincinnati, Ohio on US-50 called Mariemont on Mar. 06, 1948.   Growing up in the Southwest corner of the Ohio Valley and getting involved with the church choir instilled a love for music.  Moving to Dayton, Ohio in 1957, while taking lessons on the guitar, a new and interesting journey into the music world became his passion.

After moving to Blanchester, Ohio in 1964 and getting involved with theater he was one of four entertainers to form a music group called “The Dynamic Centurions”.  This band performed locally as well as in the surrounding regional states of Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania from 1965 thru July of 1967.  B.G. then went on active duty with the U.S. Navy.

From 1967 to June of 1987 he continued to perform with several groups around the continental U.S. including Texas, Virginia, and the lower Florida Keys.

Retiring in 1987, a major lifestyle change delayed any involvement in the arts until 1991, when B.G. Garner Sr. trained and entered the Art of Clowning.  He then became “Bun Gee The Clown” while based in Englewood, Fla. and performed around the country until 2005 when health issues prevented its continuance. During that period his love of music inspired him to produce, organize and direct the Englewood, Florida Jaycees Pioneer Days "Battle of the Bands"  from 2001 to 2004.

In 2006 B.G. Garner Sr. re-engaged in writing and composing music and began to perform in solo venues for private parties and open-mic. events as well as Jam Sessions.  Performing by request at private parties, the concept of “Second Chance Band” evolved through the collaboration of three musicians including himself.

Second Chance Band was conceived originally for the purpose of providing entertainment geared toward performing in the spiritual and recovery arena in July of 2007 consisting of three guitarists and a female vocalist.

Over the years from July of 2007 to June of 2010 this group performed over 200 public and private events.  Due to changes in group members, lifestyles, and health issues; Second Chance Band then stood down.  At that time the name was changed to “B.G.’s Second Chance Music”, featuring B.G. Garner as a soloist offering easy listening music for all ages.
